GREAT NORTH RUN 2006

Well we haven't blogged for a while, no time - out training for GNR ..........

The training worked out well as we completed the course in 2 hours and 22 mins. The cramp started to make its presence felt along the coast road, that is a long finishing straight; doesn't seem like it in the car!

We really enjoyed ourselves, even when we got saturated with the down pour. The long wait at the start was a bind, especially when you know the race has started, and that some of the elite athletes are almost finishing!

We managed to raise money for Children with Muscular Dystrophy in the process.

19.97 Km in 2h15min

We found new routes to increase our Durham Run. A few more hills and beautiful scenery.
A few pains and aches at the end, but getting better all the time. Still not enough to do the GNR distance, we'll have to add a small extra lap to do the full 21.1Km.

SunnyIt was a wonderful sunny morning we really enjoyed.
